So I an reviewing 4 more beauties from the RP+ range, lipsticks that are butter, and once you go to the counter, you wont be able to pick one, all 24 shades are good, since they are all creamy and pigmented. I am bowled over but the packaging and the amount of the lipstick you get and the fragile nature of the lipstick sometimes gets me thinking .

So today we have 2 pinks, like really unqiue pink, one is an orchid pink and another is a hot pink, the other two one is a soft nude pink and the last is a mauvy pink, so rejoice pink lovers.

In transit, the caps came off and a lot of the buttery lipsticks got damaged unfortunately.But I was sad because they are so creamy and you get a little slim lipstick there and if some of it is gone, hardly anything would be left, I have dropped them a 1000 times and the base with the label comes off and the lid breaks and what not, basically you can even hear them rattle since they are so plastic-y :(

Shade 748: This one is for you Sabrina  This is the prettiest hot pink in my collection and it is pure cream, really pigmented and really coats the lips beautifully, no shimmer or frost, just perfect, you can use this with a lip brush since this is insanely pigmented and things could go out of control.This one does not stain and lasts for 3 plus hours but it might bleed since it so luscious, great for fair skin and dry lips.

  Shade 746: This is a nice soft glazy nude pink, very creamy and can be built up, ideal for college and office and day wear, this too has little glossy finish to it but nothing over the top. Highly recommend this to light lipstick shade lovers.It wears for same two to three hours and wont bleed, since it is lighter in texture than the above. Smooth and creamy for sure.

Shade 747; This is probably the most unique lipstick in my collection, it is really bright, only some skin tones can carry it.This is an orchid shade with strong blue undertones, very very pretty but I wear on it clear skin  days only, a very creamy luscious pigmented shade, if you can carry such blue based shade, this is a must-have!

  Shade 744:

This is a mauvy pink and I think this will really suit dusky skin tones, very pretty sophisticated in person and has a creamy glossy finish and is very pigmented as well, use really less or it might bleed but love this color too, hard to choose one color from this range and say this is my favorite,all are so creamy luscious  and pigmented that I am lucky I have all

My Experience with Deborah Milano Rossetto Light Creator Shine and Volume Lipstick in Shade 4:

I reviewed Deborah Milano Rossetto Light Creator Shine and Volume lipstick in shade 9 two days back and you know how I absolutely hated that color. I had ordered two Deborah Milano light creator shine and volume lipsticks last month. I had tried shade No. 9 at first and you know, what a disaster it turned out to be. I tried shade number 4 after reviewing shade 9 and to my utter amazement; I liked this shade a lot. Well, isn’t it strange?

Deborah light creator shine and volume lipstick comes in an attractive packaging. I like the case of the lipstick because of the unique curved shape and the shiny maroon and silver color. The shade number is written at the bottom. I get very confused with the shade numbers. I think these lipsticks should be named instead of being numbered. I wish somebody from Deborah reads this review and decides to name these lipsticks.  Shade number 4 is a bright red color with some silver shimmer. The shimmer in this color is quite less as compared to shade no. 9. This color will suit all skin tones well, especially fair skin tones. It is a perfect color for parties and night outs. It has a glossy sheen to it. I love the wet look it gives to my lips.

Shade number 4 is nicely pigmented. I guess this is the reason the shimmer doesn’t feel that bothersome in this color. The red color shows up very easily on the lips and hides the pigmentation of the lips. It glides on very smoothly and softly on the lips. It is so soft that it has to be stored in the refrigerator.  It is extremely prone to melting. There’s no need to apply a lip balm beneath because it is extremely moisturizing. It stays on my lips for about 3 hours. After fading, it leaves shimmer particles on lips which make me very uncomfortable. I like the color and pigmentation of this lipstick much more than shade number 9. Though this color also has shimmer, it doesn’t bother me that much because it isn’t much visible.

• A very pretty bright red color which will suit all skin tones, is perfect for parties and is not too bold.
• Might be liked by those who like shimmery lipsticks.

• Decent pigmentation.
• Decent staying power.

• Shimmer is left on lips after the lipstick fades away.
• I don’t like shimmer on lips.
• Prone to melting.

I won’t buy this color again because of the shimmer. I absolutely love this red and I would have definitely bought it again if it didn’t contain shimmer. Well, I am glad this shade isn’t a disaster like my previous color and can be worn easily.

MAC Lip Pencil in Chicory Review

Heya girlies! How are ya’ll

I am back with a review and its of the first lip makeup product I own and that I use every day!*jai ho*

After seeing so many make-up addicts on IMBB , I decided to start using lipstick, not that I haven’t used lipsticks before but that was reserved only for occasions like weddings and stuff.  Taking Neha’s suggestions for daily wear lipsticks, I visited MAC, opposite Garuda Mall, Bangalore.  Read on to know my experience.

It was my first visit to a MAC store, and the SA’s there are really sweet. The SA I met was very helpful and patient, me having never used lipstick on a daily basis, I literally bombarded her with a million questions which she patiently answered and stood next to me helping me out as I tried literally every shade they had. I went with the idea of buying MAC Mocha or Twig, but both of them turned out to be a little pale for my skin tone.  After trying almost every single shade out there, I could not find anything that I liked and the SA asked me why don’t I try the lip pencils and that’s when I found this gem, but it was out of stock and I had to wait for two weeks to get my hands on it!

MAC Chicory is a very earthy color, it’s a perfect blend of Brick red, pink and brown, a perfect MLBB shade.

My Take on MAC Lip Pencil in Chicory:

It’s a beautiful daily wear color, for someone who likes subtle shades and too scared to try out bold shades like me, this color fits the bill. It gives a matte finish to the lips, covers up pigmentation beautifully, although I suggest you use a lip balm underneath just to make sure it doesn’t dry out your lips. The staying power is pretty good but fades through meals, so you need to re-apply after eating.

Overall, it’s perfect to either line your lips or use it like a lipstick like me.  I have been using it every single day and it doesn’t take up a lot of product to cover the entire lip, so it’s worth the price too!

So, here’s the final verdict:

Pros of MAC Lip Pencil in Chicory:

• Beautiful MLBB shade.
• Matte finish which is a pro for me.
• Good packaging, the cap shuts tight, so you can carry it in your purse/handbag.
• Enough product to last long.

Cons of MAC Lip Pencil in Chicory:

• Rs. 990 is pretty steep for a lip pencil, but hey, its MAC after all!

My experience with Beyu Fruit & Gloss Lip Stylo – Little Scarlet:

I have been watching products of Beyu frequently at online sites but never bought these because I had no idea about the quality or the range of its products. There was some discount on Beyu products at an online store last month and I thought to try at least one product. I ordered this Beyu Fruit and gloss lip stylo in shade Little Scarlet. It was a random choice because I had no idea about the color or quality of this lip product. I was just tempted by the name. :-P well, I am glad I bought this because I am really loving this Lip Stylo.

Beyu Fruit and Gloss Lip Stylo comes in a sleek and shiny silver case. I like the packaging. It is quite classy and attractive. The shade name and number is mentioned at the bottom. The bullet is slender in shape and flat top. I am sure everyone will love the classy look of this lip product. Little Scarlet is a pretty red-peach color with golden shimmer in it. The red isn’t too bright and bold to make you uncomfortable. It can be actually considered light red with some coral and pick it it. The color will suit all skin tones well. I will prefer to wear it at special occasions and in evenings and nights because of the shimmer. The color is perfect for parties. I don’t like shimmer in lipsticks at all. Because of the shimmer, this lip stylo won’t make it to my favorites list but the color is definitely unique and lovely. The shimmer is not much visible on lips and can be carried easily. Shimmer gives golden sheen to the color.

The pigmentation of this lip stylo is decent. A single gives a light red which can be worn very easily. Second swipe makes the color brighter. It glides on very easily and smoothly on lips. The texture is mixture of a lipstick and a lipgloss. It gives wet look to lips. It has fruity fragrance. This lip stylo stays on my lips for about 4-5 hours and fades evenly. It doesn’t require any lip balm beneath it and is itself quite moisturizing. It doesn’t smudge, smear or bleed. This lip stylo is quite difficult to remove because of the shimmers. Even after fading, it leaves some shimmer on lips, which looks quite weird.

I would have definitely repurchased it if there were no shimmers. The texture, pigmentation, color, staying power, everything is just perfect except for the shimmer. I guess I should find a color in this range without shimmer.

Revlon Colorburst Lip Gloss – Iced Coffee

Hello Beauties,

Here I am with another lip Gloss. Lippies and glosses are my favorites; I have so many of them and yet feel I need more all the time .But in today’s post I would like to thank to Swati who have reviewed the shade Orchid from this very line few days back. It made me look into my stash and I found my colorburst glosses, I have three of them. I am using this gloss from hte past one and half year now, and I felt it has been already reviewed. However I realized it is not being reviewed and as it is a very beautiful and “must have” shade for day to day office wear, I decided to showcase it here.

Price:

INR 525 ; INR 495 ( one of my friends got it 2 days back) I bought it for INR 490 (If I can remember correctly).

Packaging:

It is a transparent glass bottle, having square cross section, sleek and convenient to hold. The cover is plastic but sturdy, black in colour and has this cris cross patterns on it which makes it so comfortable to hold when we actually apply the gloss. REVLON is written in silver on the cover which in a way makes it very chic to look at.

Ingredients:

It does not have a detail list of ingredients it just says of few components which are Tridecyl Trimeilitate, Triisostearyl Citrate, Polybutene.

My experience with Revlon Colorburst Lip Gloss:

I already mentioned that I have been using this from past one and a half year now. Among all my glosses I won’t say it’s the best or my most favorite but certainly its in one of my favorites. What makes it so is the beautiful sophisticated shade. Its not MLBB shade but it’s a gloss which even if I wear on my  lips without a lipstick, lifts up my face instantly. It’s pigmented and as a result it stays on for 2+ hours well on my lips without meals. Unlike many glosses it doesn’t transfer much on tea/coffee mugs. Its tasteless and odorless, something I like very much. Glosses that have typical fruity sweet smell is not what I like when I wear them say in the mornings!! :-/ . The specialty of this shade is that when worn over some matte lipstick it enhances the overall look. I do that for my evening outings!! Its slightly shimmery but more of a bronze shimmer. When the gloss fades it still leaves the lips well moisturized and supple looking like most glosses do. As for texture, after applying the best part of this gloss is that single stroke and you are ready to be out of the house, no streaks, no uneven finish. Thanks to the applicator, this gloss has an awesome applicator. Its not only easy to apply but the sponge is so soft that it feels good on my lips too. I am NC 40 so I feel this will be a good choice for medium to dusky complexioned as well as for fair beauties. I don’t own the rose pearl shade, but I feel iced coffee is close to that (how much would I have loved to see the swatches together!!)

Swatches:

Just wanted to show how this gloss performs with Pink. . Enchanting isn’t it. I often team up the pink combination and my friends end up asking Kaun sa wala pink hai??! To which I say…yeh toh mera wala pink hai;-)

As the gloss is quite pigmented if applied on very light shade lipstick it might suppress the actual colour, hence apply with caution!.

Why I adore Revlon Colorburst Lip Gloss – Iced coffee:

• Awesome shade, not brown, not pink, not mauve, not beige but all together!!
• Good for day time as well as for evening wear.
• It is a good shade for fair as well as dusky skin.
• The applicator is something which is a BIG plus point over other glosses.
• Good pigmentation.
• Quite moisturizing for the lips, yet not sticky.
• Sleek and attractive packaging.
• Odorless and tasteless.
•So many colours to choose from, I feel there is one colour for everyone.
•Good quality in a good price.

Here I am wearing just the gloss:

With a coral lipstick

This is after 3 hours of application in humid weather and some snacking.

What I dont like about Revlon Colorburst Lip Gloss – iced coffee:

• Cant think of so called cons of this gloss, but may be if the staying power would have been more, I would have said its my HG.

Would I buy Revlon Colorburst Lip Gloss – Iced Coffee again?

No. Its not that I didn’t like it, but then, I would have like to try something new and already I have to finish the ones I have ( at least planning to do so)

Do I recommend Revlon Colorburst Lip Gloss – Iced Coffee?

Yes of course, for people who love gloss it’s a must have. Also those who are looking for some shade other than pink again it’s highly recommended shade, as its not very brown (although the name says coffee in it).

Kryolan Professional Lipstick – Classic 131 Review

Till now, I have just been just addicted to reading all the posts and discussions that follows, but now, I am sure I will be hooked to writing reviews as well Also, I want to congratulate IMBB guys for doing such a fantastic job! Now, let’s start with the review, shall we?

Today, I am reviewing Kryolan Professional Lipstick LC 131. I have tried many products from Kryolan and so far I have liked them all, so when I picked up this little coral lipstick, I was really excited!

Product Description:

Lipstick with a long-proven formulation, including Vitamin E to stimulate the skin’s repair mechanism. Lipstick Classic produces a matte impression and is known for its good durability. ECARF certified.

250 INR for 4 gm.

It’s a long list of ingredients, but they have mentioned every single ingredient and that is quite impressive. Don’t we all frown when just the key ingredients are mentioned?

Packaging:

It comes in a silver case with Kryolan hologram on it. Nothing fancy, but a very sturdy packaging. Quite travel friendly as well.

Now, this is one packaging feature which you will hate And love! Confused?? Let me explain… See this pic?

Here the shade is Lipstick Classic 131.  Yes, the shades are numbered, and it’s difficult to find a particular shade from a stack of Kryolan lipsticks especially when you are in a hurry! : dislike:  Now the good part; the expiry date is mentioned on the product , so even a lazy bum like me who doesn’t clear her vanity box every now and then , won’t end up using an expired product!

How I Came Across Kryolan:

I had been noticing this brand in the vanity case of a friend of mine who is a makeup artist. She introduced me to this brand which is used worldwide for makeup of actors in films and television. I have been a Kryolan fan since then!

Here are the swatches in different lights; first one is the day light and second one I took in the late evening.

My Experience with Kryolan Professional Lipstick – Classic 131:

I have a very mixed reaction towards this lipstick.  On one hand, while I love love love the shade, its texture is not as lovely as other Kryolan lipsticks I have used. It’s creamy in its application but powder matte on the lips. Besides, you have a cup of coffee and….. poof! it is almost gone. : grrr x-(

It is a good lipstick for its price, but better options are available in the same classic range. Because of all the awesome Kryolan products I have tried, my expectations were too high with this one, but like always, this Kryolan product is also ECARF certified and is safe for people with allergies like me and didn’t break me out like some of the well-known brands I have used! (Double Thumbs up!!!)

Pros of Kryolan Professional Lipstick – Classic 131:

• Affordable.
• Wide range of shades.
• Pigmentation is super awesome!
• Creamy and glides very smoothly.
• Doesn’t settle in the fine lines on fading (if your lips are well hydrated, that is )
• Doesn’t bleed at all!
• Staying power is decent without meals.
• Expiry date is mentioned right on the product.
• Its ECARF certified, that means it’s safe for sensitive skin beauties!

Cons of Kryolan Professional Lipstick – Classic 131:

• It fades away unevenly and is quite transferable.
• Looks a little chalky if applied without a lip gloss.
• It smells weird! Though the smell goes away, it’s a minus!
• Availability is an issue.

Out of the range of Kryolan, this one is not a superstar :( Though I am a huge fan of Kryolan lipsticks, I didn’t like it much, except for the shade. It’s very pretty neon coral and to me looks very similar to MAC Vegas Volt.  For coral lovers, this might be a good addition to your coral collection!

Will I Repurchase Kryolan Professional Lipstick – Classic 131?

This shade? No! But I will definitely try other range of lipsticks as Kryolan has never been a bummer for me!

Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick – Very Coffee

Today, I’m going to review yet another shade of the lipstick that has, in very little time, become one of the cult favorites for Indian women – Colorbar Velvet Matte lipstick. It’s amazing how at least one review on IMBB each week is for this lipstick. Makes one wonder how many shades there actually are in this range!!

The shade I’m going to review today is “Very Coffee”, another brown from my mother’s vanity, which is a pure coffee brown shade with no pink/orange/red undertones and is one of those colors that flatter almost all Indian skin tones. Read on to know more about this versatile lipstick.

My take on Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick – Very Coffee:

The packaging of velvet mattes is decent…a clear plastic tube with one end showing the color. I would personally like the packaging to be sturdier and classier but at this price, who can complain!
Colorbar velvet matte lipsticks are much loved for their consistency. They are smooth, yet firm. They display amazing tenacity in all weathers and seasons; they do not melt off during summers, and do not harden up in winters. The color pay-off is amazing. One swipe provides an even, opaque coverage and covers up pigmented lips efficiently. The formula is creamy enough and does not dry out the lips. However, a few hours down the line it might begin to feel slightly dry.

Coming to the color, Very Coffee is exactly what its name suggests…a pure coffee brown shade which would suit almost all the Indian skin tones. The texture is a creamy semi-matte which is exactly how I like lipsticks to be. The lipstick can be applied with a light hand for daytime wear and worn full power during the evenings, so the shade is versatile in that sense. The color looks especially good with a coat of n*de gloss on top, making for a subtle yet classy lip look. Women with pigmented lips will love this shade as it would completely cover up the pigmentation.

The staying power of colorbar velvet mattes is really great and it’s a blessing for people like me who are not into touching up their makeup on an hourly basis. The color doesn’t budge easily and stays on for 4-5 hours even with a full meal in between. Colorbar velvet mattes are notorious for staining pink as they fade, but I haven’t noticed any such staining with this particular shade.

Pros of Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick – Very Coffee:

• A pure coffee shade that would flatter most Indian skin tones.
• Well pigmented and glides smoothly.
• Very long lasting.
• Fades evenly and does not leave behind a pink stain.
• Easily available.
• Inexpensive.

Cons of Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick – Very Coffee:

• Might start feeling a bit dry after a few hours of wear.
• Packaging could be better…though at this price I shouldn’t really be complaining!

Recommendation:

Very coffee is a versatile shade that would flatter most Indian skin tones, and can either be toned down, or layered on as per the occasion, making it a great option to have in your vanity. Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipsticks perhaps deliver more than your money’s worth since they are creamy, pigmented and long-lasting. And there’s a plethora of shades to pick from! Totally recommended!

Elle 18 Lip Smoothie – Vanilla Heat

Hello beautiful ladies,

After trying my hands on so many Elle 18 lipsticks I thought of trying their lip smoothies and so I brought one of those. These are not as famous as other Ell 18 products, but they do exist. These lip smoothies comes in just 5-6 different colors and the shade I brought is called vanilla heat. Vanilla heat is a shade of light brown which when seen in packaging seems to have small sparkle particles and a frosty finish.

Product quantity:

The tube says 9ml but I really don’t understand how this small tube can have 9ml of product, but if it does have then it’s an amazing quantity for this price.

Best Before:

24 months from the date of manufacturing.

Packaging:

Vanilla heat comes in a little tube packaging with transparent body and a black cap. Like all Elle 18 products, this too has a lady printed on the packaging.

Ingredients:

Like Elle 18 lipsticks even this does not have a list of ingredients on it, all it says it that it contains cocoa butter.

Product Description:

Deliciously beautiful lips in yummy fruit flavors. Smooth, glossy and super kissable.

My take on Elle 18 Lip Smoothie – Vanilla Heat:

This is the only lip smoothie I have so I can’t comment about the fruity smell in general but this particular one does have a vanilla kind of smell to it. Pigmentation wise, I am not very impressed with the product, it does not give any color to the lips. It seems to be a shade of brown in the packaging with a frosty look but unfortunately it is completely sheer on the lips. On lips it gives the effect of a colorless gloss. Personally I will use it over the lipsticks to give them a shine.

The smoothie is smooth to apply (as expected from the name ‘smoothie’) and due to the squeeze tube packaging easy to apply too. If we compare the price with the quantity, we get amazing quantity of 9ml for just Rs. 85. Staying power of this smoothie is just average, it’s just like any other simple gloss, stays for 1-2 hours without eating anything and if you eat something its completely gone. From the moisturization point of view, the smoothie does help to make the lips moisturized and we do not require a balm underneath. The smoothie in general is non sticky but after some time especially if you drink water or something and if the gloss is partially gone, it does start getting sticky. The lips do not feel comfortable after this point.

Overall for me this is an average product which is not bad if you consider the price and the quantity, but if you will buy it with some higher hopes then you might get disappointed. It is good for those people who like sheer glosses.

Pros of Elle 18 Lip Smoothie – Vanilla Heat:

• Affordable
• Good quantity
• Cute packaging
• Nice vanilla smell ( which may be a con for some people)
• Smooth to apply
• Small packaging makes it easy to carry even in a small purse.

Cons of Elle 18 Lip Smoothie – Vanilla Heat:

• Average staying power.
• Starts feeling sticky after sometime.
• Poor pigmentation especially if you have pigmented lips.

Would I buy Elle 18 Lip Smoothie – Vanilla Heat again?

No I will not buy them again, firstly because they are not available in many colors, and secondly I didn’t like it much.

Do I recommend Elle 18 Lip Smoothie – Vanilla Heat?

I will only recommend this if you are a teenager and just trying to start makeup as it is affordable but otherwise I would not recommend it.

Faces Ultime Pro Long Wear Matte Lipstick – Read My Lips

I told you I have bought a huge lot of things including lippies and eyeliners. I thought I would be inaugurating the review series with a lipstick itself. It is from faces’ matte range. I have reviewed one of its shades before. That was a peachy nude shade while the one I am reviewing today is a pretty pink shade. Read on to know more.

My experience with Faces Ultime Pro Long Wear Matte Lipstick – Read My Lips:

The thing is-I liked this range too much when I bought the previous shade I reviewed here. So I wanted to buy more of these. This one was shown pink on the site and had the most attractive name- “read my lips”. So I picked this up. The packaging is like a royal parker pen in matte black shade with the name imprinted in silver. The cap closes with a click sound so it is a safe option to carry along.

The shade is hot pink (It appears a bit lighter in swatches). A few months back I used to buy only nude or light shades for I am not married and I cannot wear bright colors unless there is an occasion. Now, I have started picking up all the shades I like, be it nude or bright. I do not think where am I going to use the lipstick, it is just the matter of shade choice which makes me pick one. So, this one is a pretty hot pink shade which I absolutely love. I cannot wear it on daily basis but it is still a treasure for me. I had a similar shade in coloressence but I did not like the quality and weird smell of the lipstick. So I am glad I got this shade in a better quality.

Texture is smooth and easy to glide on the lips. This is what I like the most about this lipstick. Despite being a matte one, it glides on so smoothly and does not give you a dry feeling at all. The texture is just apt for me. The color gets a little darker after a while and sets to a matte one. Even after setting it does not give you the driest dry feeling nor does it get sticky. It feels very light on the lips and stays on and on. I wore it for 5-6 hours and after that I removed it on my own. It survives a meal and water sips too. If I do not eat cautiously, it gets removed from the centre of the lips which is not good to look at, but I can manage that with a touch up. It does transfer a bit, but not too much. It does not have any fragrance at all. I hate weird smelling lipsticks. No matter how pretty the shade is, if it smells bad, I am not able to use it any further.

So overall, I love this range so much and I would love to have other shades too. Though it is pricey for the amount they give but I absolutely love the quality.

• Smooth to glide on lips.
• Lovely packaging.
• Ultra long stay.
• I did not find it to be too drying.
• No odour at all. (I do have a sensitive nose)

So I have a couple of lipsticks from them that are on my wishlist, but I dont know why I got this one, the simple packaging really reminded me of old school lipsticks, something classic and the cost was not classic well, the others from MF were more expensive so I got this one.The name suggests it is a brown and yes it is a brick brown but it has a lot of glaze sheen to it.

I like the simple packaging and the label is also colored like the lipstick,its a simple lipstick so to say.The shade is more like a soft brown, a rusty brown and it has this silver sheen to it, which makes it a little oily to look at, I wish it was a pure matte or cream shade but I can make it work.You can see the sheen it has in the pics as well.

The lipstick is enough pigmented, I would not say the best, it works fine, glides smoothly and I think dry lips will like it . The color comes out true to the bullet and it does look pretty, it is a very classic brown, and it would be sophisticated for office,and brown lovers will love this.If you are not into mattes then this will be very pretty for you, it has that right amount of sheen, not pearl not frost or shimmer but just the sheen which makes lips look smooth.

Staying power is pretty average, stays on 2-3 hours, does not survive meals. The best part is that it feels very light and lip balm like, does not transfer since it is light to wear and fades evenly, no patchiness or anything.Overall smooth and pigmented to apply, average staying power and simple classic shade with a sheen nothing to gaga over but if you like browns like these, check these,dry lips and dusky skin tones check it too.

NYX Brush On Gloss – Red Lips

Hello Ladies!

I did a small makeup haul last week. No fancy stuff, all budget, of course. I ended up buying a lot of lip products this time, which I will be reviewing for all you pretty ladies, in the near future. Today I’ll be reviewing for you a product from this haul, NYX Brush On Gloss in the shade Red Lips.

Product Description:

My Experience with NYX Brush On Gloss in the Shade Red Lips:

The gloss comes in a rectangular PET tube with a long pyramid shaped black fibre cap. The container is transparent. The applicator attached to the cap is a brush, the kind like nail paint applicators. The lip gloss has a fruity smell, but of an artificial kind. In the tube, the gloss appears to be blood red, with very subtle shimmer. I tried applying it on by lips with the brush applicator provided, but the result was non-uniform, streaky, uneven application. I picked up a doe foot applicator from an old lip gloss that I had exhausted. Only then was I able to spread the gloss evenly.

It is a moisturizing formula of very thin consistency, even runnier than the formula of Street Wear lip glosses. The colour is a nice blood red with a hint of very subtle shimmer. Since it is very runny, it won’t hide any pigmentation at all. In fact it just bleeds away from the lips. After minutes of application, the pigments settle down on the crease of the lips, making it look very unsightly. The staying power is horrible. The rich red colour will barely show for a couple of minutes before starting to fade away, leaving a line of gloss along the outline of the lips. Maybe application of a lip liner will help with this problem. But I don’t have patience with them. I wish it had a better texture because I loved the colour. I don’t see myself using this gloss either by itself or over a lipstick. I won’t recommend it to anyone.

Pros of NYX Brush On Gloss in the Shade Red Lips:

• Nice red colour.
• Not sticky.
• Moisturizing.

Cons of NYX Brush On Gloss in the Shade Red Lips:

• The pigmentation is not all that good.
• The brush applicator is very difficult to work with.
• The pigments of the gloss start to accumulate in the creases within minutes of application.
• Staying power is very low.
• The formula is very thin almost watery, nothing like the Diamond Sparkle lip glosses.
• The gloss is very sheer, not at all fit for pigmented lips.

Will I Repurchase NYX Brush On Gloss in the Shade Red Lips?

No. As much as I adore NYX products, this one is a dud. I will not bother myself with the other shades of this range simply for the fact that they have a brush applicator.

By now you know how very fond I am of lip colors with one part balm/gloss and other part true color that sets to matte smudge-proof finish. I picked up one more of these from Maxfactor, and actually three more, but this is my first lipfinity color and gloss, the others are color and balm. Check out two shades in Sultry and Spicy, both of which I love!

This one was first love when i saw such a muted pink shade, this is just perfect to wear anytime, not at all over the top and does not add much color, it is a muted mauve pink kind of a shade and you can wear it to office as well because the gloss keeps it chic and not at all over the top.The color has not shimmer, it sets to matte finish and the gloss is a baby pink with silver shimmer to it which hardly shows up, its a great combo for me.

The applicator is a nice simple one and one even coat is required of the color and then you need to wait for 30 seconds for it to set to matte, after which your lips will feel taut and very flaky, you cannot move without the gloss or balm on top of it so after it sets, you coat it with gloss as much as you fancy, one coat is enough to get pretty neutral pink kind of glossy lips.

Now the catch, you really have to keep your lips as such, you dont have to rub them together or eat food or do anything that will make your color flake off,once you do, then the color starts to rub off in flakes and crumbly and then it looks awful. After a meal, the color kind of dissovles and the centre of the lips remain colorless and the color coat could be seen only on the outline, that is the main problem. So the more you use your lips, the more the color will rub off.If you want the color to last for long, and remain as such, do not eat

I suggest use this product for a few hours when you really need your lips to stay 100% perfect and then you can come back and remove it. Don’t count on flawless perfection for long because with time the color rubs off and flakes.You can top the gloss again but it would still not be perfect.

Freshly applied color:

I think the color would be great for all skin tones, and pigmented lips and once you apply the gloss it will be great for dry lips too.

After gloss application:

I dont know what is it about these long stay paint-like lip color, I really love them, I know they stay pretty only for a few hours and then start to flake off, but I personally love those few hours of application,so its a pure love or hate relationship you can have with these kind of lipsticks.

After an hour or so after snacking:

I suggest you try and feel them on the lips before you buy them, if you apply them, try not to eat and only then expect some serious smudge proof color for long,otherwise these are simply a pain to remove with an oil-based remover. I will be buy many more because I love them and I know many who wont like it.

Pick of the day is a pretty peachy pink from Wet n Wild.  Wet n Wild claims that Mega shield lip color provides comfort and care. Luxurious color delivers hours of sheer to moderate coverage that glides on butter soft for a smooth, moist looking pout. Lips are pampered with Vitamin E, amino acids, avocado oil and rice bran oil that moisturize and condition for silky, soft comfort and with SPF 15, lips are cared for and protected from harmful UVB rays.

My Experience with Wet n Wild Mega Shield Lip Color in Within These Adobe Walls:

Within These Adobe Walls is a warm coral pink. It’s a very subtle coral, without any shimmer or frost. This particular shade has a very shiny finish. There is no need to apply gloss on the top or balm underneath. It is the creamiest formula I have ever come across. Various ingredients like avocado oil, vitamin E, rice bean oil etc.,  make it very moisturizing and nourishing for the lips. The formula is very light and non sticky. There is no flavor or fragrance to this lip color. Mega Shield lip color provides a medium coverage and can be made to look bold with two swipes. This shade is even perfect for pigmented lips.

Wet n Wild Mega Shield Lip Color stays well for more than 4 hours even with meals and light snacking in between. I am glad how this buttery formula stays intact for such a long time. Another charming thing about this shade is that you can apply it sheer also. Just a single swipe on one lip and then spread it on both, voila! you are good to go. So, even girls who are not too comfortable with bold corals can wear it like this.

Packaging of Mega Shield lip colors is interesting too. It comes with a black bottom and transparent top for easy recognition. I find it sturdy as I have already thrown this two-three times and there is not even a single crack on the outer cover, but the only problem is the creamy formula is too delicate for harsh Indian summer. These need to be stored in a cool place. I am highly fond of Wet n Wild lipsticks, these are just superb. An excellent pick if you can put your hands on these some time.

My Experience with L’Oreal Colour Riche Lip Color – Wisteria Rose:

I feel so happy to introduce another gorgeous shade from L’Oreal Colour Riche series, a beautiful blend of roses and corals in one shade “Wisteria Rose.” I just wonder how it gives a coral hint in dim light and yellow light but gives absolutely gorgeous pink rosy glow to face in natural light.  The color in bullet looks a dark rosy shade but it gives very bright pink pigmentation on lips in just one swipe.

I feel it’s solely made for teenagers and fair skin toned gals. It looks simply rosy but it might be hard to pull off sometimes, especially when your skin is tanned badly.  As my skin is tanned these days due to frequent swimming sessions, I am experiencing hard luck with almost all gorgeous lip colors.  I need to first take care of my tanned skin and then try this gorgeous rosy shade but if you are blessed with clear and fair skin, then definitely this rose lipstick is going to fetch you wonderful compliments from everyone, believe me.

Coming over to its ever creamy texture, it’s super creamy and very light on skin. Just one swipe is enough for buildable pigmentation and multiple swipes gives you flawless petal rose lips, I swear! It keeps my lips moisturized till its last trace on my lips and it has pretty good staying power of 6-8 hours with heavy meals. Even if it washes away after frequent eating and rinsing sessions, a sheer rosy tint keeps on glowing my lips for a few hours which looks perfect. I am really glad over their buttery texture, good staying power and enough pigmentation. I am definitely going to get some more new launches from L’Oreal Colour Riche, meanwhile getting rid of the stubborn tan I am highly recommending this shade to everyone.

Pros of L’Oreal Colour Riche Lip Color – Wisteria Rose:

• Gorgeous rosy pink shade gives pinkish coral pigmentation in dim light while it looks bright pink in natural light.

• Even if the lip color fades away from the lips after a few hours, a sheer rosy tint glorifies lips for a few hours.
• Extremely light on skin.
• Does not bleed nor settles in fine lines.
• Travel-friendly classy case.

Cons of L’Oreal Colour Riche Lip Color – Wisteria Rose:

• It may be difficult to pull off this shade on tanned skin.
• Slightly transferring.

Other than these minor nays, I hardly recognize any point to skip this charming goodie.  I am rushing to L’Oreal counter this weekend, what about you gals? Just rush and have this rosy shade, it’s a must-have for you.

By now you my love for these long wear lip products, I dont know I have loved them since my early love for lipsticks, the first ones I picked up were from Colorbar (lippies too ) and then oriflame too had these, but I think now the prices for these duos are hiked insanely, Colorbar extra durable lip color is not 700+ and the revlon long last ones are 900 I think, mainly all these duos, with a gloss, shimmer or balm are expensive and not many of us like it too.

This one ofcourse is still 590 which is way better than the others and the cute slim packaging and the clear balm it comes with, I really love it. They have a lot of shades to choose from and I have 4, one I am yet to review in a nude shade but this one is a the darkest one in this duo form I have tried, these one is a beautiful maroon berry shade, very sophisticated and classy and I think more sutied to mature women, the color is a hot favorite with my mom too but she wears her regular maroon but not these long stay ones.

The packaging is awesome, the slim balm and the color side with the doe foot applicator, the right amount of product and then these will finish soon unlike most of my other lipsticks, so I love these long last ones. Some of them come with a gloss, the lifinity luminous petal I had reviewed comes with a gloss end but these are two separate products you get, so pretty to look at.

The color does not have any shimmer, it has a creamy berry maroon application which dries to matte in say 30 seconds, then you can top it up with the clear balm you get, the balm is so cute really I am tempted to eat it, the balm works more like a gloss and you can not think of wearing the matte color alone, it will make your lips feel tight and dry, once balm is applied the lips feel like there is no color and just a lip balm on, so even dry lips can try it.

You have to give it an even coat and the color and the product is not forgiving at all so please ensure you get the shape of your lips correctly. The color is suited to pigmented lips and these coats of any color would be great for pigmented lips. The staying power is the same story, as soon as your lips are used, the food etc will remove the balm and the coat will melt and rub off, so better used when you need perfect lips for a few hours and just light snacking.I personally love those few hours of immaculate lip color but remember these lip colors are the least forgiving.

My experience with NYC Ultra Moist Lip Wear in Mocha:

Mocha is a brilliant brown and suits me very well. I am sure those who love brown will sure like it. It comes in a normal packaging with a transparent cap to decide the shade. The consistency of the cream is so smooth that it glides softly on the lips and keeps it moisturized without any lip balm underneath. For the price this one has a outstanding pigmentation. It doesn’t dry out lips nor settle in fine lines. When applied makes the lips adorable.

Staying power of the lipstick is decent with 2-3 hours. It does leave a frosty effect on lips but the shimmers are not that much visible when applied and on that case in daylight too.

Pros of NYC Ultra Moist Lip Wear in Mocha:

• The packaging is mediocre which makes the lipstick core getting mixed with the cap.

I like the brown shade a lot. It gives a beautiful and attractive finish. For 0.93 cents its pigmentation, color pay off and moisturizing properties are very good and this is very similar to wet & wild silk finish lipsticks. I recommend this for all brown lovers and those looking for affordable lipsticks.

Anna Andre Deluxe Creme Lipstick in Shade 40201 Review

After trying the Anna Andre Deluxe Crème Lipstick 40202, I wanted another shade from this range and spotted the shade 40201 online. I immediately added it to my cart and here is the review of this shade.

My Experience with Anna Andre Deluxe Creme Lipstick in Shade 40201:

The lipstick comes in a retractable pencil form with a transparent cap which comes out easily and so the lipstick can’t be traveled with. The shade is a beautiful earthy pink. The lipstick does not have shimmer particles and does not accentuate the fine lines nor does it settle in between them. I like the formula as it is very moisturizing and does not dry out my lips.

The texture of this lipstick is smooth and creamy and spreads easily on the lips. It feels very light on the lips even after layering. The pigmentation is good and it covers my slightly pigmented lips in about two swipes. However, after about three swipes, it appears more brown on my lips and not earthy pink. It has a slight glossy finish which stays for about an hour after application.  The lipstick lasts on my lips for about 3-4 hours and survives a meal and frequent water sips though the color fades off a bit. The only issue with this lipstick is that it transfers a lot.

• Beautiful earthy pink color.
• Decent pigmentation.
• Moisturizes the lips.
• Feels light on the lips.
• Does not settle between lines.
• Stays on for 3-4 hours.

Revlon Colorburst Lip Gloss – Sunset Peach

Hello beautiful ladies,

Today again I will be showing you girls a beautiful shade from the Revlon colorburst line. This is my fourth and the last lip gloss from the color burst range and the shade is called sunset peach.

Product quantity: 5.9ml

Price:

INR 525, but I bought it for around INR 400. I got four of these in order to get a 25% discount on my complete order.

Packaging:

These glosses comes in a transparent rectangular bottle with a black cap.

Ingredients:

Tridecyl Trimellitate, Triisostearyl Citrate, Polybutene, these three ingredients are mentioned on a sticker on the bottle.

My take on the Revlon Colorburst Lip Gloss – Sunset Peach:

Sunset peach is a beautiful shade of peach with minute golden shimmer particles. Although I am not fond of shimmers on my lips but these are different because these shimmers are only visible in the bottle and not much on the lips. The shimmers become visible only when the gloss starts disappearing from the lips or in bright lights (white taking photographs). The color/ pigmentation is the same as the shimmers. The color looks like a pretty peach in the tube but when applied on lips it comes out to be sheer. This particular color lacks the desired pigmentation. After using Sienna sparkle (which is a highly pigmented gloss from this range), I expected a lot from this, but unfortunately I didn’t like it the way I wanted to. Despite of being less pigmented or almost sheer, it looks beautiful on a lipstick especially if it’s a shade of peach.

Texture wise the gloss is very smooth to apply and is thick in consistency; it is not one of those liquid glosses that sometimes are difficult to manage. The gloss does not dry lips nor does it make the lips sticky. I personally hate sticky glosses and so this gloss gains brownie points for me. Staying power of the gloss is average. It lasts for around 2 hours without any meals but wears off completely even after some snacks.

There are some glosses which feel heavy on lips and some feels completely weightless, this particular one is in between the two. It neither feels heavy not completely weightless, after applying this, it gives the feeling that I have something on my lips which is not very heavy. The one thing I loved about this gloss is its applicator. The company calls it a plush applicator which makes the application easy and does not leave any streaks on the lips.

Pros of Revlon Colorburst Lip Gloss – Sunset Peach:

• Smooth to apply
• Thick consistency
• Non sticky
• Does not dry lips
• Does not have any smell or taste
• Color and quantity is easy to recognize due to clear packaging

Cons of Revlon Colorburst Lip Gloss – Sunset Peach:

• Not so pigmented, actually its almost sheer.
• Average staying power.

Would I buy Revlon Colorburst Lip Gloss – Sunset Peach again?

I brought this in the hope of getting a good peach shine on my lips, but I wasn’t completely satisfied with this one, so I will not buy it again.

Do I recommend Revlon Colorburst Lip Gloss – Sunset Peach?

If you like sheer glosses then you should buy this one as it has everything except good pigmentation.

Biotique Bio Color Lipstick Hyssop

I am back with another lip color review. You all are aware of brand Biotique. I didn’t know that they have lipsticks too  They have good collection of lip colors. The names of the lip colors are very different.I am going to review one of them here. Hyssop biotique bio color lipstick. They are available online I don’t think stores have got them. This hyssop is pretty pinkish nude shade. Take a look at the review .

My views on Biotique Bio color lipstick Hyssop:

Biotique has always been known for its herbal and ayurvedic Products. Now its time for some lipsticks and glosses too. First let me start with packaging, Yes they have good packaging, totally travel friendly. Sturdy caps and small size with lipstick name and number on the bottom. Count me in the same group of gals obsessed with pink on their lips That’s the reason I picked this color. I call it pinkish nude because that it what it looks like on the lips.

Coming to the smell of the lip color, itshorrible. It smells like petroleum. Good thing is this lippie has no glitter :p The texture is very creamy and gives luscious look too. I don’t know about other colors but for this one it has got very cute matte color of pink. Gives you good pigmentation just in a swipe or two. It is not preferable for those who are looking a long lasting lippie because it would stay on for 2-3 hours and nothing more. I couldn’t stand it for that long with the petroleum smell on my lips.

Pros of Biotique Bio Color Lipstick in Hyssop:

• Lovely Pink shade
• Gives good natural luscious finish
• Perfect Pigmentation
• Creamy texture
• Affordable
• Good packaging

Cons of Biotique Bio Color Lipstick in Hyssop:

• Horrible smell.
• Staying power is not so good.
• Availability is an issue.

Let me summarize:

If you are only looking for a good color on your lips just for a while, this one is a good go but if you want a lipstick with more features than that, this  is a bad option. Comparatively, you get better lipsticks than this, say Lakme or Faces  at a very good price online. I wouldn’t ask you to buy this one, when you can find better ones I will definitely try some other brand not this one again.

L’Oreal Color Riche Lipstick – Mica Review

Pick of the day is a lipstick from L’Oreal Color Riche collection named Mica.

My Experience with L’Oreal Color Riche Lipstick – Mica:

Mica is a silver, cool-toned plum shade, sort of a shimmery plummish brown lip color. The silver sheen it has instantly adds a glow to my face. It does not feel gaudy even during the day time. The shade would work well for Indian skin tones and I find it versatile enough to be worn in summers as well as winters. Mica is a pigmented shade with a brilliant color pay off. One swipe and you are good to go. The formula is very hydrating as it contains Vitamin E, argan oil and Omega 3, which helps keep lips soft and nourished. It is very comfortable to wear, no stretchy or sticky feeling.

The texture of color riche lipstick is very buttery and it glides like silk on the lips. I found the scent too overpowering in this particular shade. Some L’Oreal lipsticks come in a splendid golden packaging which looks chic. The bullet has a slanted tip and L’Oreal is engraved on it. Overall, I find L’Oreal lipsticks very enchanting and I can’t have enough of them ever.

• Outstanding staying time for a light shade.

• Does not settle in fine lines or feather.
• Feels comfortable on lips.
• Luxurious packaging.
• Contains fantastic ingredients.
• Available in many shades.

Nays For L’Oreal Color Riche Lipstick – Mica:

• Delicate noses would not like the fragrance it has, although I am perfectly fine with it.
